Summary:

Provide direct patient care under the direction and supervision of an RN or LPN.

Required Certification includes Basic Life Support from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network. Minimum requirements include 6 months acute care experience or 1-year Skilled Nursing Facility experience; or completion of Nursing Fundamentals from a Nursing Program; or EMT certification / Paramedic license for ER only. If no experience/training in sterile technique; insertion and removal of urinary catheters, and IV reseal removal. A BayCare PCT Course and accompanying competencies must be completed within 90 days of hire.

Preferred - 1 year - Hospital in related field.

Education equivalent experience:

Essential:

• Required - High School or Equivalent; Required - Technical - Patient Care Technician; Or - Technical - Certified Nursing Assistant; Or - Technical - Emergency Medical Technician; Or - Technical - Licensed Practical Nurse; Or - Technical - Reference summary for details

Credential equivalent experience:

Essential:

• Required - BLS (Basic Life Support) - Relevant Specialty; Required - Patient Care Technician - If applicable; Or - Reference summary for details; Preferred - EMT (Emergency); Preferred - LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse)
