Position Title: Plant Controller

Location: McMinnville, TN

Reports to: Sr. Mgr – Operations Finance Manufacturing and Productivity

Key Responsibilities :

  • Establish and maintain the financial systems and controls to effectively address legal and managerial requirements and maintain the integrity of the accounting and financial reporting process. Oversee the overall administration and accounting requirements for the McMinnville manufacturing facility, including audit.

  • Provide overall cost accounting for manufacturing plant, lead monthly close process, review journal entries, ensure accuracy of monthly results and deliver reporting package including explanation of results and variances to Plan, prior year and prior forecast to senior management.

  • Lead monthly forecast process and deliver reporting package and explanation of assumptions and variances to senior management.

  • Complete KPI reporting package including productivity savings and present to leadership team.

  • Conduct monthly financial review with senior management

  • Lead annual Plan process for the McMinnville manufacturing facility, including rate development, expense assumptions, and standard cost development. Deliver Budget package and present to senior management.

  • Manage capital and manufacturing expenses budgeting, productivity reporting, and interactions with funtional teams. Facilitate factory daily dashboard. Assist manufacturing team with the costing of CARs, processing in Black Pearl and tracking approvals.

  • Work with operations team to provide improved factory efficiencies and a reduction in cost of failure; analyze plant financials weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc.

  • Maintain responsibility for routine compilation of parts manufacturing costs for payroll, factory labor, verification of actual costs and computation of variances.

  • Manage and develop accounting/finance staff in assigned areas of responsibilities.

  • Responsible for cycle count program management as well as physical inventory count when required.

  • Monitor compliance of policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with US GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley, Tax, Internal Audit and other statutory requirements.

  • Support plant management in the overall financial decisions. Interface with other departments to provide cost accounting support.

  • Share best practices across the financial team

Key Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance

  • 5 - 7 years experience in accounting/finance field, with a minimum of 3 years in a manufacturing environment.

  • Minimum 3 years as a proven Finance Manager.

  • Demonstrated:

  • Leadership and communication skills.

  • Accomplishments in the areas of finance and accounting.

  • People management experience

  • Expertise in MS Office specially with EXCEL advanced functions

  • Ability to :

  • Assess risks and opportunities within complex business situations.

  • Relate cost accounting concepts to operations, and the financial statements

  • Plan, schedule and develop solutions for complex and diverse problems.

  • Handle multiple concurrent tasks and meet strict deadlines

  • Objectivity required.

  • Self-motivated, achievement oriented with attention to detail.

  • Ability to work in a matrix environment.

  • Significant experience with SAP is strongly preferred.
