Job Description

The Director of Accounting is responsible for identifying areas for forward-moving improvements, including monitoring financial and project data for accuracy and trends. You will engage in strategic business development, expedite financial and metric data with improved accuracy, and gather input from leaders and stakeholders for the creation of the overarching financial and project-related data strategy, governance, controls compliance, and policy updates as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor corporate cash flow and prepare monthly forecasts.

  • Design, develop, implement, monitor, automate, and analyze data systems for executive dashboards, performance indicators, and quality metrics.

  • Prepare monthly financial statements and supplemental reporting, manage month-end and year-end closing, and account reconciliations.

  • Ensure GAAP compliance, analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements.

  • Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of automated standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and Excel worksheets.

  • Oversee and direct financial audit, tax, and financial reporting activities for the organization.

  • Establish and direct accounting policies, procedures, and controls.

  • Direct procedures and computer application systems necessary to maintain proper records and to afford adequate accounting controls and services.

  • Provide management with timely reviews of the organization’s financial progress in its various programs and activities.

  • Oversee the revenue recognition process including WIP.

  • Responsible for audit coordination.

  • Manage fixed asset depreciation schedules.

  • Liaise with the bank for banking and line of credit reporting.

  • Oversee to ensure that all federal and state tax requirements are met, and forms filed.

  • Oversee Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable. Responsible for keeping the accounting database in good order.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of full-cycle accounting experience

  • 5+ years of managerial accounting experience

  • Experience with Trend and Performance Analysis

  • Experience with fixed asset accounting and depreciation

  • Industrial Industry segment experience

  • Experience with Tier1/Tier 2 ERP Software

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance

  • Understanding of Cybersecurity

This is a fully on-site position in Salem, Oregon.
