What You’ll Do:

  • Participate in requirements analysis, requirements definition, requirements management, functional analysis, performance analysis, system design, trade studies, systems integration and test (verification), validation and interface definition studies of system elements

  • Research and analyze data, such as vendor products, COTS components, GFE/CFE/BFE, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application

  • Support the generation of technical engineering products by using the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle

  • Develop and evaluate systems, networks and information systems to ensure designs meet applicable governmental security specifications

  • May provide system accreditation/certification evaluation and test support to ensure all technical security features (e.g., identification, authentication, access control, labeling, and auditing) of the system are considered and function properly

  • Support and sometimes leads the planning and execution of requirements verification activities; such as hardware and software tests, demonstrations, inspections and analyses.

  • Plan sub tasks for activities described above

  • Creative, innovative responsibilities requiring advanced decision-making skills

  • Define processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility

  • Develop professional expertise, applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues

  • Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action

  • Identify, analyze and resolve system design weaknesses

  • Receive instructions from immediate supervisor

  • Contact with multiple work groups

  • Work under general supervision

  • Contact with Deputy Program Managers Engineering (DPME) and other professionals within the Engineering department

  • May have some contact outside Engineering or with external customers

  • Provide resolution to problems of moderate scope

  • Keep abreast of technology trend

What You’ll Need:

  • Secret Clearance

  • Travel may be required

  • Familiarity with technical standards

  • Solid knowledge of systems engineering concepts, principles, and theories

  • Solid awareness of business objective and Engineering role in achieving

  • Solid knowledge of requirements management and system modeling tools

  • Ability to grasp and apply new information quickly and able to handle more complex assignments

  • Shows initiative on assignments, exercises independent judgment and professionally executes projects with little direction

  • Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

  • Solid written and verbal communications skills

  • Creative thinker

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Builds productive internal/external working relationships.

  • Solid skills in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions

  • Ability to clearly recognize and report relevant to sound systems engineering design

  • Solid knowledge of systems engineering concepts, principles and theories

  • Solid knowledge of requirements management and system modeling tools

  • Familiarity with technical standards.

  • Forklift and gantry crane operation and setup of heavy equipment may be required

  • Creative thinking with the ability to multi-task

  • Ability to quickly grasp and apply new information

  • Effectively handle complex assignments

  • Ability to clearly recognize and report relevant to sound systems engineering design

  • Agile experience preferred.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Engineering, a related specialized area or field combined with 2 + years of relevant work experience; or Master’s Degree.
