Principal Associate, Project Manager: Marketing Operations (Hybrid)

The Capital One US Card Business is transforming Marketing Operations to be a catalyst, enabling business teams to achieve their goals through the adoption of marketing automation capabilities supported by well managed delivery processes. This exciting new Project Manager role will be at the helm of driving adoption of Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) capabilities as we continue scaling our journey orchestration, marketing automation, and campaign delivery process.

With a successful history of strong project management and communication skills, this associate serves as the “conductor of the orchestra” partnering with marketing strategists, business analysts, creative teams, SFMC Campaign Specialists, data analysts, and product managers to ensure effective and efficient movement and tracking of work through the planning, build, execution and post execution monitoring process leveraging Workfront. As Marketing Cloud scales, the Project Manager will identify and implement opportunities for functionality and process improvements.

How our hybrid model works

This role is hybrid meaning associates typically spend about half their time (2-3 days per week) in-person at one of our offices listed on this job posting . Monday and Fridays are enterprise- wide virtual work days . Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are in-person days for associates to spend time together working in our beautifully-designed team areas.

Responsibilities

  • Build critical relationships and collaborate with Marketing Strategy Leads and Execution teams on resource and schedule planning of prioritized intent

  • Identify process improvements, optimizing speed to market while balancing overall execution risk

  • Manage the workflow between performer groups as SFMC campaigns are built, reviewed/approved, tested and deployed

  • Identify and address impediments in the SFMC process; escalate as appropriate to keep deployments on track

  • Manage process controls including documentation of approvals

  • Perform audit related control steps prior to campaign deployments including:

  • Review of all required intent and validation report approvals as complete

  • Ensure the sending configuration of all components matches legal/compliance/privacy requirements

  • Confirm automation schedule is appropriate and activated for deployment

  • Identify intent and execution breakdowns and assist in necessary recovery efforts

  • Develop and maintain monitoring plans including both campaign and platform reporting. Perform periodic maintenance activities to ensure the health of SFMC, e.g. folder cleanup, asset archival

  • Provide project management support for SFMC campaigns

  • Own and facilitate cross-functional meeting ceremonies

  • Engage project performers to assess and document scope of work

  • Work with Marketing Execution and Marketing Strategy Leads to sequence and execute email and campaign updates

  • Coordinate with partner business units/teams to ensure broader schedule alignment, work progress updates and troubleshooting activities, as needed

  • Partner with Business leader to provide status reporting for stakeholders and/or external project partners

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience

  • At least 4 years of Process or Project Management experience

  • At least 1 year of experience leveraging Workfront or other project management systems

  • At least 1 year of experience in marketing campaign delivery

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Marketing Operations/Delivery experience in financial services or another regulated industry

  • Agile, BPM, Lean, PMP Certifications

  • 2+ years leveraging Workfront or other project management systems

  • Adobe Workfront Project Manager Professional Certification

  • 2+ years experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or other Marketing Automation Platforms software

  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Specialist Certification

  • 2+ years experience in Customer Acquisitions or Management activities

  • 3+ years experience in process engineering, design, development, and deployment

  • 2+ years of Risk Management experience
