Primary Purpose of Job:

The CE will provide essential leadership of technical direction, and cross-program integration. They will partner with leadership to develop and execute strategies that advance the technologies of the National Airspace System Infrastructure and ensure the technical quality of the products delivered to our sponsors.

The CE will work in partnership with the Division Chief Engineer, Project Leaders within P212, and other stakeholder DMs and CEs, to ensure execution of a high-impact, high-quality technical work program that achieves sponsor mission-critical outcomes and contribute to Cross-Department and Division Technical Capability Areas.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Guide the department’s technical investments, reusable capabilities, processes, technical initiatives, labs, R&D activities, and development of staff skills.

  • Develop and expand partnerships across centers to enhance programs and projects in support of sponsor mission needs.

  • Shape and influence sponsor work products by leveraging expertise across MITRE.

  • Ensure projects go through the appropriate quality review process to ensure quality standards are met and to facilitate integration within the project and across related work areas.

  • Grow the division/department’s internal and external reputation by leading and contributing to high-impact, high visibility work that substantially informs key sponsor decisions and enables key mission outcomes.

  • Ensures delivery of regular, constructive feedback and developmental support to Project Leaders or to staff

  • Development of future MITRE leaders

Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (or equivalent in combined education and experience) and 15 years of related experience. At least 3 years of supervisory/management experience preferred.

  • Master’s degree in related field preferred.
