Job Summary:
The Senior Principal Secure Systems Engineer and Team Lead will exhibit a high degree of creativity and ingenuity, and will be responsible for architecting, designing and developing advanced systems leveraging Systems Integrity and Cyber Security guidelines and concepts. The position requires subject matter expertise and experience in secure systems, such as anti-tamper, cyber security, cryptography, or software assurance. This is a high-growth technical area and the candidate must be a self-starter that enjoys collaboration and pursuing innovative, practical solutions. This position also provides technical guidance and mentoring for his/her team members and is also accountable to programs ensuring that the work products are of the highest quality and meet the program objectives. The candidate must be strong technically, a leader and a subject matter expert in this field.

Responsibilities To Anticipate:
Lead and develop embedded security solutions and be responsible for leading and executing the security efforts for secure system products
Generate security subsystem specifications, security subsystem architecture, interface descriptions, Critical Program Information (CPI) assessments, and vulnerability assessments
Work independently and as a member of a team in coordination with engineers in development, integration, test and modeling
Exhibit a high degree of creativity and ingenuity and be responsible for developing advanced systems /security integrity and information assurance leveraging Anti-Tamper guidelines and concepts
Communicate effectively with both internal and external customers and brief senior company and customer leadership teams
Basic Qualifications:
Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 10+ years of experience related to Embedded Systems/Software Engineering architecture, requirements, development, and implementation
An active and current DoD Secret security clearance on Day 1 of employment with the ability to obtain additional program-level special clearances. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Experience designing, implementing, testing, and fielding real-time embedded security-oriented solutions on Department of Defense (DoD) programs
Experience using security standards, methods, and policies; risk and threat analysis; and technical safeguards
Experience with design/development/implementation in at least one of the following areas: Anti-Tamper (HW, SW, Systems), Cybersecurity, Software Assurance
Preferred Qualifications:
Background in both Systems Engineering and Software Engineering practices
Experience in System Integrity, Intel Community Agency Security design, or related field
Experience with certification and accreditation of cryptographic, anti-tamper, and other security-related engineering products / systems
Experience with multi-level security solutions
Demonstrated organization, coordination, planning and teaming skills
High degree of technical writing experience, in developing domain focused white papers, trade studies, and technical/policy documents in support of initiatives, programs and proposals.
Knowledge of reverse engineering principles and methods
Experience leading engineering development teams and personnel
Ability to interact with customers to define requirements, solutions, trades, costs, implementation, system impacts, and effectiveness.
Develop top-level system requirements, and flow down requirements and implementation concepts to subsystems
Experience with direct interfaces with respect to customer representatives and external suppliers
Experience with commercial-off-the-shelf security technologies and trusted products.
Experience in using tools and metrics in managing activities
Experience managing (cost and schedule) systems engineering product teams within a program and earned-value management
Familiarity with sizing engineering efforts and bidding program pursuits
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
