Job Summary and Qualifications

Utilizing the standards set forth for Nursing Practice by the ANA, the RN will organize, modify, evaluate, document and maintain the plan of care for adult and geriatric patients to include individualized, family centered, holistic, supportive, and safe care.

What you will do in this role:

• Use therapeutic communication in daily practice

• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment of care

• Implement and direct care, using the nursing process with emphasis on the needs of individual patients

• Evaluate the effectiveness of the nursing process

• Provide emotional support of the patient and significant others to make informed choices regarding health care

• Promote an environment that treats patients and families with dignity, respect and appreciation of their lifestyle, religion and culture

What qualifications you will need:

• At least 2 years of experience in a short term acute care hospital as Med Surg/Tele or PCU RN

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

• Registered Nurse

• Associate Degree

• Bachelors Degree must be obtained within 2 years of employment start date

Our main campus is a Level III Trauma Center. We provide emergency services at our main campus and at Medical City ER Stonebridge. We have cardiovascular and neurological services. We offer general surgery, orthopedics and women's services. Additionally, a Level II neonatal intensive care unit and behavioral health services. Medical City McKinney is a Primary Stroke Center. We are also a stroke rehabilitation center. We are certified by The Joint Commission for total hip and total knee replacement. We are a part of the Medical City network of hospitals.
