Job requires the operation of various tractors and farm equipment to till soil; work ground; prepare and maintain land; and plant, irrigate, fertilize, spray, cultivate, harvest, and transport crops to elevator or storage area. Equipment that workers may be required to operate includes, but is not limited to, tractors with various implements, sprayers, combines, back-hoes, mowers, and track-hoes. Non CDL farm trucks will be loaded with agricultural products and driven on the farm and to storage facilities. Duties also include maintaining levees; installing and removing levee gates; checking rice fields daily for water levels; performing end of season draining of fields with shovels; participating in irrigation activities including setting up and operating irrigation equipment; clearing and maintaining irrigation ditches; receiving rice crop for drying and storage at grain drying facility; cleaning grain bins, surrounding site, grain pits and work areas; disposing of spoiled grain from pit and elevator area; ensuring hoppers are filled properly in mechanical harvesting; unloading gain bins and loading into trucks; operating tractors, tractor drawn machinery and self-propelled machinery; repairing and maintaining farm vehicles that are both diesel and gas powered, machinery, specialized\ machinery and agricultural equipment including grain augers associated with module packers and grain bins used for storing and transporting farm products; weeding crops; performing manual shovel work; loading harvested products; using hand tools such as shovels trowels, hoes, tampers, knives, grain scoops and brooms; loading cotton bales; picking up and loading loose cotton; hand chopping and rouge cotton; repairing property borders and farm buildings; applying pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers to crops. Workers with licenses may transport workers and may be offered additional work hours. There are few typical days and workers may be required to change duties and/or locations often and engage in various general functions. Daily duties may vary depending on crop, weather, and field conditions. The employer reserves the right to increase workers\' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer.
