Senior level Tech experienced (Magnetic Resonance (MRI)) Specialist required

Hours:

  • M-F-Full-Time

  • 8:00am- 4:30pm

  • Travel required: - On occasion depending on need to: Tinley Park, Burr Ridge, Oak Brook Terrace, Melrose Park, Maywood and Berwyn, IL

About the Job

In this role and under the direction of the MRI Manager in collaboration with the MRI Medical director, the MRI Modality Technical Specialist functions as the MRI technical "subject matter expert". This position is charged with the development & implementation of all clinical imaging protocols for all scanners within the region Burr Ridge, Oakbrook Terrace, Gottlieb Medical Hospital, McNeal Hospital, Tinley Park and main campus LUMC and LUMOC Must have in-depth knowledge of MRI parameters manipulation and troubleshooting. In addition, this person performs technical procedures, applying magnetic resonance techniques that require independent judgement, ingenuity. and initiative in order to provide the physician with the highest quality of diagnostic information. T he MRI Modality Technical Specialist also acts as the chief educator-clinical instructor/super trainer for all staff and students. MRI Technical Specialist works in collaboration with MRI Physicist to oversee all MRI research projects, directs quality for the modality, and serves as a liaison between the equipment vendor, physicians, & staff. Performs IQR and ACR accreditation. Ability to grow and manage MRI programs with various Radiology schools.

What you'll need

  • Associate degree

  • Specific Degree(s): Radiologic Technology; MRI Technologist

  • 3-5 years of previous job-related experience

  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills

  • Possesses the interpersonal skills to positively and effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to prioritize and deal with a variety of situations simultaneously.

  • Demonstrates proficient to expert knowledge of MRI imaging equipment, techniques, procedures, and inventory

  • Presents a positive attitude and a professional appearance to exemplify the profession and represent the department

  • Must demonstrate flexibility and willingness to adapt to change and anticipate interruption

  • Engages in problem solving, crisis management, systems implementation, and performance improvements throughout the hospital(s) to promote and support efficient, high quality, and cost-effective patient care.

Licensure/Certifications

Required:

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)

  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Tech

  • CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) from American Heart Association

  • Preferred Other : Quality Management Certification (ARRT)
