Hours : Full Time, Nights: 7pm - 7:30am. Every 3rd weekend and every other holiday.

About The Job:

This position accepts the responsibility and accountability for the delivery of patient care with the multidisciplinary team while u sing the nursing process and maintaining professional nursing standards.

JOB SUMMARY

Unit Summary/Purpose:

Post-Surgical Orthopedics/Neurology Unit

Our nurses care for a wide array of post-surgical patients that include:

  • Neck and Back Surgery

  • Shoulder Surgery

  • Total Knee Replacement

  • Total Hip Replacement

  • Seizure

  • Stroke

RN Job Duties:

  • As an RN you will be caring for patients that require at least an overnight stay in our organization, post-surgery.

  • You will care for a variety of surgical incisions and drains.

  • The nurse will care for patients with a team that includes licensed practical nurses and nursing assistants.

What we are looking for:

Education:

Current RN licensure in the state of Iowa, or qualified multistate licensure required.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.

Experience:

Previous experience in acute care preferred.

Special Skills and Competencies:

Preferred professional certification in related to clinical specialty (from the Magnet approved certification s)

Ability to work on multiple projects at one time and flexibility to meet department needs.

Self-motivated, detail oriented individual able to work with minimum supervision.

Must be able to read, write and/or speak English.

Must provide proof of Basic Life Support ( BLS Provider -American Heart Association or Professional Rescuer-American Red Cross) prior to employment or within 30 days of hire and maintains current status.

Must provide proof of Mandatory Reporting for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse training prior to employment or within 6 months of hire and maintain current status per State of Iowa guidelines

Completes Cardiac Dysrhythmias and Management class or equivalent within 3 months of hire, and annual skill validation for Cardiac Dysrhythmias.
