Your Impact at SAM The 2025 Summer Internship runs from May 19th - August 11th. Prepare, collect, organize and input data to maintain and enhance the clients GIS including field research and GPS data collection and processing Assist with interpreting as-built drawings, construction plans, engineering plans, recorded maps, deeds, legal descriptions, imagery and related source documents and incorporates them into GIS using various methods including coordinate geometry (COGO), digitizing, and GPS Assist in the creation and maintenance of multiple GIS layers including parcels, streets, right-of-way, zoning, other development layers, and water and sewer system layers Follow quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) processes, and perform routine data management tasks, such as data validation and correction, queries and editing in GIS to ensure GIS data accuracy, integrity, and completeness Assist with GIS and data analysis, prepare and execute queries, produce maps, spreadsheets, graphs, and other analytical products What You Bring to SAM Enrollment in a 2 or 4-year degree program in GIS, Geography, or other related field Desire and willingness to learn more about our industry and its technology GPA of 2.5 or higher Strong math and computer skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Our Perks Gain practical experience by working on diverse projects and contributing to impactful initiatives Receive mentorship from expert professionals, learning the technical skills for success Show off your SAM pride with exclusive SAM swag on your first day of the internship Embrace professional growth by joining our Intern Insights meetings with industry-leading experts throughout your internship Opportunity to work part-time after internship EEO SAM is an EOE/Affirmative Action Employer M/F/D/V.
