Job Description Summary
The Senior Design Manager’s role is the primary point of contact for their assigned account(s) regarding Space Planning & Design, Data Management, FF&E, and Moves; lead the development of workplace strategy and standards, and provide general oversight of and support for design team members.

Responsibilities:
Lead the interior design effort of special or more complex projects.
Support Project Designers and Project Design Managers in quality review of design deliverables.
Support on-boarding and training of new Project Designers.
Contribute experience to the interior environment with knowledge and skills about space planning, interior building materials and finishes; casework, furniture, furnishings, and equipment; lighting; acoustics; wayfinding; ergonomics and anthropometrics; and human environmental behavior.
Execute full design process, from initial sketch through start of construction
Work independently or with minor oversight to perform assignments including, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning and construction documentation
Produce mood, material and design presentations independently or with minimal supervision
Participate in internal and consultant meetings
Provide extensive and rapid fire knowledge of FF&E vendors and resources to the team
Develops process documents that align with workplace strategy and client business needs, that can be modified for use across accounts
Develops client workplace standards; recommends new standards and looks for continued improvements to the client workplace design
Collaborate with Workplace and Strategy teams to ensure furniture standards and policies are being adhered to.
Reviews test fits and suggests workplace improvements in response to client business needs
Provides suggestions to maximize space efficiencies while implementing solutions in-line with corporate real estate goals to be implemented in client proposals
Interfaces with Client to develop new workplace strategies and define processes for design team members
Reviews all data analytics and space solutions in presentation format prior to client delivery
Review and confirm all preliminary space plans and design concepts are safe, functional, aesthetically appropriate, and meet all public health, safety, and applicable code requirements
Generates monthly metrics reports for SLA’s and KPI’s identified within the contract
Review selection of colors, materials, and finishes to meet clients’ requirements
Review selection and specification of furniture, fixtures, equipment, and millwork, including layout drawings and detailed product description
Reviews and oversees CAFM data management that supports development of space allocation plans
Qualifications:
Excellent time management, communication, collaboration, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, in addition to the ability to work independently
Excellent time management, communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
Skills coordinating Audio Visual and other specialty consultants
Prefer at least Five (5) years of design experience within the commercial market
Must be able to lead a team effort, and delegate work to all team members to enable them to work independently
Bachelor’s degree from an CIDA accredited institution in a related discipline or field of study (i.e. Architecture, Interior Design, Corporate Real Estate, Facilities, Project or Construction Management, etc.) required, OR Bachelor’s degree in Other Major than above plus Interior Design Certification, Degree or Diploma.
Project Goals. Understand, document, and confirm the client’s and stakeholders’ goals and objectives, including design outcomes, space needs, project budget, and needs for specific or measurable outcomes.
Data Collection: Collect data from client and stakeholders by engaging in programming, surveys, focus groups, charrette exercises, and benchmarking to maximize design outcomes and occupant satisfaction.
