8-hour day shifts, variable days (United States of America)
The Room Service Coordinator works under the direction of the Food Service Manager and Director of Food and Nutrition Services. The Room Service Coordinator assists in the nutritional care of patients with emphasis on hospitality. This individual assesses the patients’ capability to utilize the meal order system, obtains meal order in person or over the phone assisting them to meet their medically directed diet therapy. The Room Service Coordinator serves meals to patients in a professional, efficient manner providing special meal set up as indicated by medical orders. This individual collects trays upon completion and records intake information into the patients’ medical record as well as reporting intake for calorie count studies. The Room Service Coordinator will assist in other areas as needed to meet the demand of the department.
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: Completion of sophomore year in high school. Experience in customer service or foodservice related field.
Preferred/Optional: High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum Required: None
Preferred/Optional: One year in customer service related field.
