Job Summary
Procure bidding opportunities through various means to increase company backlog and future growth.
Job Duties:
Read and interpret project specifications and plans to prepare detailed, comprehensive, and accurate quantity and material price take-offs.
Develop project cost summaries, present results and recommendations as needed; explain estimates to potential clients.
Collaborate with LJM team members, landscape architects, clients, contractors and sub-contractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects and services, tracking actual cost relative to bids.
Provide improvement recommendations to cost estimating procedures to reduce future discrepancies to ensure historical data is utilized.
Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
Proficient with CAD and other landscape software programs.
Knowledge of landscape construction industry, building techniques and engineering.
Knowledge of current project market pricing.
Ability to read, interpret and follow blueprints as well as other planning/technical documents.
Familiarity with building codes, laws and regulations.
Understand construction concepts, scheduling, bidding and estimating.
Proficient in Microsoft Office
3 years of landscape, construction and estimating experience preferred.
Bachelor's Degree in an industry-related field, such as architecture, construction management or engineering
