Ford Motor Company Workforce Development Project Manager, BlueOval Battery Park Michigan in Marshall, Michigan

You’ll be a key part of the launch team that will help bring the electrification revolution to driveways, job sites, and highways everywhere. BlueOval Battery Park Michigan will produce the lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery cells to power the next-generation Ford EV passenger vehicles and trucks under development. This new wholly owned subsidiary of Ford Motor Company will create more than 1,700 jobs when production begins in 2026. This role will start remote and then will be working hybrid out of Marshall with expectation to be on-site at Marshall once building construction and timing is established (relocation package available).

As Workforce Development Project Manager with a focus on automotive battery manufacturing, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing projects related to the design, development, and implementation of learning programs and initiatives to support the workforce in the production of automotive batteries. Your role will involve coordinating and leading cross-functional teams, overseeing project timelines, budgets, and resources, coordinating project activities, and ensuring the successful delivery and execution of learning solutions aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning and Management:

  2. Develop comprehensive project plans, defining project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements.

  3. Coordinate and manage all project activities, including needs analysis, curriculum design, content development, delivery methods, and evaluation processes.

  4. Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and proactively implement mitigation strategies to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

  5. Conduct regular project meetings, facilitate effective communication, and provide status updates to stakeholders and senior management.

  6. Project Documentation and Reporting:

  7. Maintain project documentation, including project plans, schedules, status reports, and risk registers.

  8. Prepare regular project reports, highlighting key milestones, progress, and potential issues, and present them to stakeholders and management.

  9. Budget and Resource Management:

  10. Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenses, ensuring cost control, and reporting on financial performance.

  11. Coordinate resource allocation, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to meet project requirements and optimize efficiency.

  12. Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to source and procure necessary components and materials for the projects.

  13. Cross-Functional Team Leadership:

  14. Lead cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, designers, and other stakeholders, to ensure seamless collaboration and achievement of project goals.

  15. Stakeholder Management:

  16. Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior leaders, SMEs, project sponsors, and external partners, to ensure alignment of project goals and secure necessary resources.

  17. Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements, specifications, and quality standards, ensuring alignment with customer expectations.

  18. Needs Assessment and Program Design:

  19. Conduct comprehensive needs assessments to identify skill gaps, training requirements, and performance improvement opportunities in the areas of automotive battery production.

  20. Work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to analyze technical processes, job roles, and competency frameworks to inform the design of effective learning programs.

  21. Curriculum Development and Delivery:

  22. Oversee the design and development of learning materials, including instructor-led training (ILT), e-learning modules, virtual training sessions, simulations, and hands-on activities.

  23. Collaborate with instructional designers, multimedia specialists, and content developers to ensure the creation of engaging and interactive learning content.

  24. Coordinate the delivery of learning programs, including scheduling, logistics, facilitator coordination, and participant enrollment.

You'll have...

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

  • 5 years of project manager or project lead in a manufacturing L&D environment.

  • 5 years extensive project management skills, including project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource management.

  • 5 years experience Strong communication and presentation abilities, with the capacity to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences.

  • Proven success overseeing the design and development of learning materials, including instructor-led training (ILT), e-learning modules, virtual training sessions, simulations, and hands-on activities.

  • Proven success of collaborating with instructional designers, multimedia specialists, and content developers to ensure the creation of engaging and interactive learning content

Even better, you may have...

  • Bachelor's degree in Learning and Development, Human Resources, Business Administration, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.

  • 7 plus years a project manager or project lead in a manufacturing L&D environment.

  • Proficiency in project management software and tools to effectively plan, track, and report project progress. Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.

  • Experience with instructional design models, adult learning principles, and training evaluation methods

  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing project requirements.

  • Strong communication and presentation abilities, with the capacity to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences.

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing stakeholders at various levels of the organization.

This position is a range of salary grades LL6.

This role will start remote and then will be working hybrid out of Marshall, MI, with expectation to be on-Site at Marshall once building construction and timing is established (relocation package available).

Once your employment with Ford commences, you will be assigned to BlueOval Battery Michigan LLC. You will continue to be employed by Ford Motor Company but work for BlueOval Battery Michigan LLC, a Ford wholly owned subsidiary located in Marshall, Michigan. You will remain an at-will employee at all times during your employment with Ford or any Ford affiliate or subsidiary with which you later become employed.
