Associate Scientist - Enterprise Automation Location(s): Granville, OH, US, 43023-1200 Function: Research and Development Audience: Experienced Professional Work Arrangement: Hybrid Requisition ID: 64034 Location(s):Granville, OH, US, 43023-1200 Function:Research and Development Audience:Experienced Professional Work Arrangement:Hybrid PURPOSE OF THE JOB As an Enterprise Automation Associate Scientist, you will be instrumental in creating and supporting operations and maintenance deliverables for our enterprise automation projects. You will collaborate with Enterprise Automation engineers and program managers along with plant engineers, operators, and maintenance technicians to ensure ongoing performance of newly installed automation solutions. Your work will directly contribute to the transformation of our processes, ensuring they are safer, more efficient, and more enjoyable for our employees. Reports to: Sr Engineer II-Process Automation Span of Control: Individual contributor that works across the Enterprise JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Demonstrate a Commitment to Safety Commit to our safety stand: all accidents are preventable, safety is everyone's responsibility, and working safely is a condition of employment. Ensure rigorous compliance to standard safety procedures and OC corporate policies. Proactively identify and resolve hazards in the workplace and improve the safety of our processes. Actively participate in team safety activities and incorporates safety into all trials and installations. Conduct risk and safety assessments on new processes and equipment. Support Process Automation Projects through Vertical Start-Up Practice Results-Driven Project Management (RPM) for effective execution and clear communication including roles & responsibilities, timelines, resources, and results. Support Maintenance & Operations Activities: Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for automation systems to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. Documentation and Training: Create detailed documentation for automation systems and provide training to staff to ensure smooth operation and maintenance. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest automation technologies, lessons learned and best practices to continuously improve our implementation and start-up. JOB REQUIREMENTS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate's degree in scientific or engineering field. Demonstrated experience in effective technical project management. Willingness to travel as needed (25-45%) to support project work[AR1]. PREFERREDEXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in scientific or engineering field. 2+ years of experience in engineering or science-related industry position. Demonstrated track record of equipment commissioning, operations, and maintenance in large cross-functional teams. Proven experience in automation systems, including PLC programming, HMI development, and SCADA systems. Technical knowledge and/or experience with Owens Corning products, processes, applications, and customers. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve automation issues. Balance of theoretical and practical experience with passion for manufacturing technology. Ability to interface with plant personnel and execute projects in the manufacturing environment.
