Our Connected Aviation Solutions (CAS) team has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Deputy Hardware Evolution Manager. This pivotal role is central to the Standard Terminal Automation Replacement System (STARS) program within our Air Traffic Systems (ATS) division. In this role, you’ll work closely with the Hardware Evolution Manager to lead a talented team of Electrical and Mechanical engineers in advancing the hardware design for the STARS Air Traffic Control System. Your responsibilities will include managing risks and opportunities, overseeing contract changes, and meeting cost and schedule objectives. You’ll also collaborate with FAA Hardware Leads and Raytheon’s cross-functional teams to ensure the program's success.

What You Will Do:

  • You will work 2-3 days onsite per week at our Marlborough, MA location.

  • You will interface with all areas of the hardware engineering team and collaborate with STARS subject matter experts, ensuring seamless integration and communication across the board.

  • You will support contract change proposals, and oversee cost and schedule requirements, driving efficient project execution and alignment with strategic goals.

  • You will adapt to daily challenges and evolving Government requirements, including those from agencies such as the FAA and DoD, ensuring compliance and agile response to regulatory changes.

  • You will facilitate the execution of risk and opportunity management, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues to safeguard project success.

  • You will participate in weekly development and strategy meetings, contributing to the continuous improvement and advancement of the STARS program.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience managing hardware engineering design and development teams, with a strong track record of leading complex technical projects.

  • Must have prior experience overseeing technically intricate development efforts, including expertise in cost management, scheduling, earned value management, risk management, and ensuring technical performance.

  • Must have prior experience delivering compelling technical presentations to customers and stakeholders, demonstrating your ability to effectively communicate complex concepts and project updates.

  • Education - Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience

  • U.S. citizenship is required - Only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under these programs/contracts

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Prior experience with Earned Value Management, including cost and scheduling integration, is essential.

  • Prior experience working with the FAA and DoD in a management or leadership role for 5+ years is required.

  • Prior experience working directly with customers to identify new opportunities, communicate project status, and resolve issues during execution is crucial.

  • Raytheon EVMS certification or PMP certification (or being in the process of obtaining it) is preferred

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
