Cummins Inc. Controls Engineer in Marktheidenfeld, Germany

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Controls Engineer to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for Cummins in Marktheidenfeld, Bayern, Germany .

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Collaborate with relevant functions to select and utilize appropriate resources, tools, machinery, and specialty equipment for various tasks and projects.

  • Development, design, and implementation of Controls Systems in- and around production assembly.

  • Point of contact for solutions in production plant with a manufacturing background and its software development.

  • Extend and maintain the existing in-house developed Production MES (manufacturing execution system) and the C# software around it.

  • Implements change requests, assists with the preparation of cost estimates and appropriation requests.

  • Integrates new technology and methods for data management and interpretation using SQL, Python, PHP, JavaScript etc. Working closely with Global Industry 4.0 team.

  • Modify software and equipment parameters to ensure sensors and actuators function according to specifications.

  • Supports and debugs problems, providing solutions based on a thorough understanding of the equipment and systems.

  • Assist in preparing cost estimates and appropriation requests to ensure projects are financially feasible and within budget.

  • Investigate project problems and requirements, developing plans for solutions that consider economic, personnel, and environmental factors.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • At least B2 German language skills.

  • Comprehensive knowledge and expertise in performing skilled activities to support manufacturing business needs.

  • In-depth understanding of safety protocols for working with electricity and other energy sources in an industrial setting.

  • Ability to quickly and effectively adapt to changes in the manufacturing environment, demonstrating flexibility and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in data science is desirable for analyzing and improving manufacturing operations.

  • Understanding of Pneumatics, Hydraulics and Electricals considering the impact of controls topics on machine safety and security.

  • Excellent knowledge in machine automation by developing and debugging PLC programs like and a variety of protocols.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

  • Significant work experience and in-depth knowledge obtained through specialized training and relevant experience.
