Business Unit Overview

8th Avenue Food & Provisions is a growing organization made up of businesses that produce and sell quality products including pasta, peanut butter, granola, and fruit and nut trail mixes to retail, foodservice and ingredient customers. The company was formed in October 2018 through a combination of Post Holdings’ private brands businesses and is owned by Post Holdings and funds affiliated with Thomas H. Lee Partners, L.P. (“THL”), a private equity firm.

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Quality Assurance Technician’s main function is to ensure the fast & accurate handling of documents, finished good and raw material tests to support the quality team in food safety and quality verification and compliance. This person will have a working knowledge of current North American food safety regulations and GFSI requirements. The position may require work with cross-functional teams to ensure that raw material or finished products are inspected and released in a timely manner and that non-conforming product disposition is handled in an efficient manner. Ideally, this individual should have previous experience within a food-processing environment and food testing lab. Location: 30 Citizen Court, Markham- Unionized Environment Shift: Afternoon Monday to Friday 2pm - 10pm with overtime work on Saturday/Sunday Pay Rate: $19.97/hour with and increate to $20.77/hr as of March 1, 2025

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist with the development of food safety and quality systems through technical leadership. Ensure product quality & safety and GMP through regular inspections as per procedure and by educating production personnel about food safety and quality procedures and requirements. Ensure that packaging and ingredients meet specifications prior to production Conduct swabbing and other sampling (water, air, etc.) following environmental monitoring program and perform trend analysis. Report any GMP violation or non-conformity, conduct investigation and follow up on the Assists in the investigation of customer complaints and dispositions of out-of-date materials. Maintain the electronic records system and portals up-to-date, participate in equipment calibration and lab supply orders, and in the safety program. Assisting with the recommendation of changes to manufacturing practices and/or production flow to ensure the safety of products. Maintain QA records in safe, secure and orderly Participate in internal and external quality Maintain a clean & tidy work All positions within Golden Boy Foods Ltd are mandated to adhere to Good Manufacturing (GMP) and uphold food safety standards. Other duties as Education And Experience Required: Associate’s or Bachelors degree or Diploma in food science, Microbiology or related discipline. 1+ years quality assurance experience in food manufacturing industry 2+ years’ experience utilizing Microsoft office with intermediate proficiency 1+ years’ experience with HACCP and GMP
