This is a 2nd shift role, working Monday through Friday 3 PM - 11 PM.

As an Automation Technician, you will be responsible for maintenance and troubleshooting, and support of industrial control systems for manufacturing, labs, and clean utilities used in the manufacture of Vaccines. The Technician is a key member on an automation team supporting the wider Technical Services group on projects and initiatives ensuring GSK standards for automation technology are met.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career.  These responsibilities include some of the following: Function as a technical resource for questions and issues related to instrumentation and control systems. Develop technical expertise by attending formal trainings and completing specific job assignments tailored to your career development needs. Design and install of instrumentation and control systems on small projects, ensuring alignment with GSK standards and regulatory expectations. Manage work to achieve technical, cost, schedule benefits. Develop and optimize operation and maintenance procedures and training programs for instrumentation and control systems. Provide troubleshooting assistance to operations, skilled trades persons, and process engineers during times of equipment or control system malfunction. Develop and optimize automation SOPs to promote system robustness. Assist with deviation investigations for areas automation and control. Apply continuous improvement tools to analyze and address system weaknesses to build reliability and robustness into the control systems. Maintain existing and develop new GMP life-cycle documentation for instrumentation and control systems in coordination with the site Validation group. Demonstrate a commitment to personnel and process safety during automation process operations and during troubleshooting activities and other safety initiatives and programs.Why you?Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

HS diploma

5+ years prior experience working with instrumentation/automation/control systems

5+ years prior experience working in a 24/7 manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

Experience with hardware and software on one or more of the following systems: PLCs, HMIs, PCs, VFDs, Industrial Networks.

Familiarity with GxP guidelines for vaccines and pharmaceutical processing, including secondary manufacturing such as sterilization, vial filling, lyophilization, packaging equipment, clean utilities, and HVAC systems.

Familiarity with relevant Quality System and regulatory requirements (electronic records and signatures, change control, validation).

Self-starter capable of adapting quickly and working with minimal or no supervision in unfamiliar, complex, and critical situations.

Ability to provide leadership to generate options, resolve problems, prioritize, and select optimal solutions.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and influence individuals throughout all levels of the organization.

Committed team player prepared to work in and embrace a multi-disciplined team-based culture.

Ability to follow written procedures and document results in a neat and precise manner.

Ability to maintain attention to detail, accuracy, and right-first-time quality mindset, while completing multiple or repetitive tasks and meeting goals or deadlines.

Ability to maintain a high level of integrity while balancing multiple priorities and responsibilities.

Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service.
