Utilize your detail-attentiveness in this Assistant Control position with a company in the Construction/Contractor industry Robert Half is collaborating with. You will supervise the accounting staff and report any updates to the Controller in this Assistant Controller role. Identify issues and resolve problems in this stimulating Assistant Controller position. This role would be best suited for candidates who consider themselves a self-starter. Qualified candidates should apply as soon as possible! This permanent employment opportunity is based in the Acworth, Georgia area.

What you get to do every day

• Ensure regular account reconciliation to completion

• Other distinguished duties when required

• Provide assistance to the accounting team during the closing process to make certain deadlines are met

• Advanced preparation and coordination of fiscal year-end audits

• Accommodate the preparation of GAAP financial statements, including budgeting and forecasting

• Support to ensure a competent, trained staff through development, regular assessment, and goal setting

• Assist implementation and assure adherence to accounting policies and procedures

• Create relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like the monthly flash report, key financial metrics, and actual spend against budgets/outlook

• Define and flourish process improvements to streamline reporting and improve team efficiency

• Drive accountability and the meeting of deliverables

• Analyze and create Ad Hoc financial reports

• Prepare a variety of technical accounting analyses, policies, and procedures

• Backfill for Controller when necessary

  Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

• Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills highly desired

• Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes

• 9+ years of general ledger accounting experience

• Ability to multitask and attention to detail are critical

• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

• Solid understanding of month-end closings
