Here, you will make an impact by:Supporting and executing a series of high priority product improvement projects to deliver our brand promise of innovation and strong reliability to our Transportation & Commercial Branding Films customers. Initial focus will be cost improvement projects with alternate materials and updated product design & manufacturing processes..Leveraging and collaborating with cross-functional teams including product development, manufacturing, and quality teams to drive robust qualification of products updates and commercialization of new products, address issues with current products, and drive continuous improvementExecuting competitive testing, test method validation, failure analysis, predictive failure/analysis, product durability, design reviews, product field claims and investigations, and other duties as necessary.Supporting and overseeing change management as it relates to product design changes driven by product/quality improvement, supply changes, regulatory requirements, and cost reduction.Drive continuous improvement mindset by using a multitude of project management and analysis methodologiesYour Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:Bachelors degree in a science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institutionFive (5) years or more of combined experience in one or more of the following areas: Product Engineering, Process Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, New Product Development, Quality, Manufacturing, Product Commercialization, New Technology Development, Applied Research, and/or Research in a private, public, government or military environment.Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:Ten (10) years or more of combined experience in one or more of the following areas: Product Engineering, Process Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, New Product Development, Quality, Manufacturing, Product Commercialization, New Technology Development, Applied Research, and/or Research in a private, public, government or military environment.Possess expertise equivalent to that which would be obtained in a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science/Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science,Mechanical Engineering, Macromolecular Science, or related discipline.Expertisein adjacent area(s) such aspolymer sciences, polymer processing (extrusion, blown film), web handling, coating, weathering, microreplication, optics, adhesives and/or films.Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross functional team members.Demonstrated ability to lead and support change management or product development teams to deliver technical results.Well organized, strong problem-solving skills, team-building mentality, results-drivenFlexible and able to manage multiple priorities and responsibilities.Exceptional written and oral communication skill.Work location: On-site (Maplewood, MN)Travel: May include up to 40% domestic & international travelRelocation Assistance: May be authorizedMust be legally authorized to work in country of employmen without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).Supporting Your Well-being3M offers many programs to help you live your best life both physically and financially. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
