Job Description Description: A candidate for this position will be testing mechanical properties including load frame operation with tensile and fatigue testing, lap shear, dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA), Rheology, Kolsky bar, and Therma testing such as Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC) and Thermomechanical Analyzer (TMA). The candidate will be working with soft materials such as adhesives and using Python-based tools for data operation. The candidate should have a good understanding of laboratory techniques of weighing, mixing, and lab safety procedures. Responsibilities: Prepare samples for mechanical analysis by DMA, load frame, peel tester and other mechanical properties testing Analyze samples by DMA, load frame, peel tester and other mechanical properties testing Analyze data sets using Python and cloud based tools Test and modify Python and cloud based data analysis tools as directed Follow standard formats procedures for analyzing samples and reporting data General lab maintenance duties Requirements: Good mechanical aptitude and sample manipulation skills Experience in running lab equipment such as load frames Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Python Notebooks BS. in Materials Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or related fieldor equivalent related experience This position will be cross functional and will require good time management skills and a high level of independence after the training phase. Good organizational skills, record keeping and follow through will be integral to success. The candidate will need to communicate effectively verbally and by e-mail.
