TEKsystems has an opening for a Network Engineer to support a client in Minnesota:

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Support WAN aggregation network in the data center (BGP/OSPF)

• Support layer 2 infrastructure (Catalyst, Nexus, ACI)

• Checkpoint UTM project (New builds, OSPF routing, IPSEC tunnels)

• Ensure that corporate on-premise system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and security mechanisms adhere to best practices and organizational standards

• Deep level Troubleshooting of system problems, and escalation of problems to vendors as necessary

• Works within a new agile team, promoting an atmosphere of continuous improvement

• Participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation and automation

• Provide strong influence in technical project teams to evaluate and implement innovative solutions

• Utilize various automation, monitoring, and service management tools & techniques to troubleshoot issues and perform performance tuning

• Be involved in Architectural decision making, and providing recommendations based on knowledge and experience

• On call duties within a 9-person rotation.

Palo Alto Skills:

• Manage on prem and cloud Check Point and Palo Alto firewalls

• Palo Alto and Checkpoint UTM engineering (Configuration, implementing, troubleshooting, patching, etc.)

• Firewall policy creation and updates

• Skills with supporting network technologies LAN Switching/Routing and VPN

• Firewall rule / policy analysis (API’s, Scripting)\

• Firewall migration and execution (Ansible/Terraform)

• Palo Alto configuration and troubleshooting

• Create comprehensive documentation for network automation workflows, processes, and scripts. Prepare regular reports on network automation progress, performance, and results.

Top Skills Details:

Cisco routers, WAN, Cisco switches, Router, F5

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Will be on-call rotation every 2 months or so, can be remote IN THE TWIN CITIES, MN as they may have to go to the Data Centers in St. Paul.
