The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Vertical Business Director, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Operating as Transportation and Energy's (T&E) most senior leader driving innovation and growth in the Energy vertical. Focused on Oil and Gas, Nuclear, Hydrogen and Renewables sectors.
Leading the vertical strategy developing and executing T&E’s business, technology, partnering, and go-to-market strategy for the global Energy business.
Identifying major industry innovation trends and customer needs (pain points) and driving the insights and understanding back into TEBG’s product roadmaps to ensure the organization builds a world-class, innovative and differentiated portfolio of solutions.
Building deep relationships with leading companies (Marquee/Key accounts) and ecosystem partners for the vertical
Leading the account teams over Key account customers to build and execute long-term strategies that result in deep technology-oriented partnerships and strong revenue growth
Leading technologists and application engineers as innovation partners to solve complex problems and develop future roadmaps.
Overseeing and executing sales strategies for key accounts, including managing sales performance and gross margin within the Vertical.
Compiling and sharing Vertical successes, insights, and learnings for marketing purposes.
Representing the Vertical in external industry forums and associations.
Developing and maintaining deep expertise in the Vertical's value chain.
Partnering with Global Product Portfolio leaders to identify and prioritize New Product Introductions (NPI) based on marquee or key account needs.
Partnering with the quality and regulatory organization to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements specific to the Vertical.
Tracking and reporting on the return on investment (ROI) of Vertical marketing activities.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, we requires ( at a minimum ) the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
Proficient experience in Energy industry (Oiling Gas, Nuclear and Renewable) in a private, public, government or military environment
Proven track record of delivering results and building business with strength growth and sustainable margins
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Deep understanding of the energy industry and value-chain, including major players and decision-making ways
Ability to develop C-level relationship, including both technical and non-technical leaders and to convey strategic direction and capabilities to support customer needs
Proven ability to represent customer and market differences for strategy, management and execution
Ability to translate technical needs of industry customers into roadmap requirements of material science and product teams
Ability to build vision and strategy while developing strong action plans and driving teams to deliver
Ability to lead through influence at high levels in the organization
Ability to deal with abstract concepts and changing environment
Agile leader, able to adapt approaches in dynamic environments to deliver the right outcomes
Change leader, able to activate engagement and culture shift
Demonstrated ability to lead, execute and deliver as part of a broader leadership team, frequently without direct ownership of day-to-day operational resources/execution
