About this role: Primary focus is to coordinate the shipments of materials (hazardous/non hazardous) domestically and internationally in a fast paced enviornment while maintaining compliance with federal and foreign regulations governing the shipment, receipt and documentation of exported goods. Investigate and resolve inter-company discrepancies at all BSC locations. Your Responsibilities include: Understands and adheres to safety policies and practices. Responsible for quality and adheres to departmental process requirements, the Boston Scientific Corporation Quality Policy and the Strategic Quality Process (SQP) Follow all processes in which trained (in their most current revision), and completing other assigned work, while meeting departmental goals and metrics. Knows the coverage strategy, rotates as necessary and works well with all group members, both within the team and cross functionally. Maintains accurate records, including training files. Demonstrates, promotes and suggests ideas for Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement initiatives and cost savings. Responsible for attending and passing all required BSC and site specific training per the training curriculum. Performs required logistics functions in SAP specific to the shipping area as well as troubleshooting. Responsible for coordination and prioritization of hazardous/non hazardous materials shipping domestically and internationally Establishes relationships and acts as a liaison to proactively communicate between all cross-functional teams by utilizing effective written and verbal communication skills. Ensure all shipments meet the customer requirements regarding documentation, packaging and transportation and meet the forwarder cut-off times. All activities related to customers are in line with applicable procedures and work instructions and with quality, legal, customs, DOT and IATA regulations. Work closely with the BSC Global Trade Compliance team for non-standard shipments and establishing new components. Audits department processes and makes updates when needed. Provides training, leading and direction as needed to the shipping department in the preparation of domestic, International, and exports. Expedites difficult shipping situations (e.g., dangerous goods, new product introductions, customs clearance, crated shipments, etc.) to ensure timely delivery. Work with carriers, freight forwarders, crate companies, and regulatory agencies to identify and resolve shipping issues. Work with Project Managers for new product shipments. Create commercial invoices for exports. Problem solving in an everchanging environment. Advises and trouble-shoots the carrier computer shipping software as needed (e.g., software and server update) to enable the user to perform their shipping duties. Required Qualifications: 2 years of experience. High school Diploma Ability to operate material handling equipment or be comfortable learning. Strong Teamwork Able to lift 50lbs. Able to do physical labor and Able to stand for long periods at a time.
