Boston Scientific Patient Access Portal Coordinator - Intracept in Maple Grove, Minnesota

About the role: The Portal Coordinator is responsible for oversite regarding the onboarding and training of the customer assigned as the portal coordinator for the physician practice. This role serves as the primary contact for the practice-based portal coordinator for inquiries related to case entry and management throughout the insurance authorization process. Ensures portal coordinators are meeting expectations as outlined by the Intracept Patient Access program and physician customer. Location: Remote; minimal travel (<10%) Your responsibilities will include: Contact all newly appointed portal coordinators within acceptable timeframe as determined by management. Reinforce expectations regarding Salesforce practice facing portal use, documentation upload requirements, and methods of communication. Receives and responds to customer inquiries within the timeframe as determined by management. Document all interactions timely and comprehensively. Draft written communication for letters and e-mails to patients, physician offices, and internal customers as needed. Support internal and external customers with inquiries and education regarding the Intracept portal and internal authorization process. Identifies inefficiencies and opportunities for process improvement. Position may require periodic travel to meet with local sales reps, physicians, and customer staff. Perform other related duties as assigned, including special projects. Required qualifications: 2+ years' experience in a clinical or prior authorization setting in pain management or orthopedic spine specialties. 2+ years' experience successfully training others High school diploma or GED Preferred qualifications: Knowledge of medical terminology with a focus on the spine. Skill in the use of software applications such as electronic medical records (EMR), payer portals, Microsoft Office. (Salesforce experience is a plus.) Ability to work independently and problem-solve Ability to interact and communicate with people over telephone and virtual meetings in a professional manner. Strong ability to read and understand clinical documentation and radiology reports; extracting key information as it pertains to vertebrogenic pain. Ability to read, understand, and apply payer medical policy criteria and exclusions. Ability to plan, organize, and execute daily activities with minimal oversight. Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports. Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
