Title: Strategic Inventory AnalystLocation: Mansfield, Texas
The Strategic Inventory Analyst develops a process to effectively evaluate inventory gaps and opportunities by employing company, supplier, and industry/market expertise. This assessment of inventory positioning should be done across categories and suppliers and promotes strategic business initiatives. The Strategic Inventory Analyst has the mission to proactively action the following. Drive Mouser position in the marketplace as the distributor of choice for both suppliers and customers. Develop a structured and consistent process by product category that will deliver on market share, supplier, and team goals. Build new supplier portfolios, identify products for growth, and support customer and industry trends. Assist in the process improvement needed for part search via skills used daily to assess inventory needs.
ACCOUNTABILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Uses broad industry, supplier, and market knowledge in implementing efforts to achieve customer retention and growth. Is experienced in evaluating suppliers, understanding the competitive landscape, and developing the business with a global perspective. • Cultivates and maintains influential cross-departmental relationships with internal stakeholders (i.e., Products, Product Operations, etc.) to ensure that all are working together to share information and yield the best possible product offering for our customers. • Expands Mouser’s market value by fostering unique solutions and advantages for suppliers. • Effectively communicates to all levels of management. Encourages an open feedback channel for input on the evolution and improvement of the inventory analysis process. • Shows a high level of project skills. Remains continuously up to-date with policies, procedures, and processes. • Continually evaluates inventory breadth and depth for all product categories and suppliers, maintains the product mix which best meets corporate financial objectives, category strategies and customer needs. Positions Mouser as the preferred go-to-market partner with suppliers.• Ensures that response to the various Mouser teams and departments is swift, decisive, relevant and customer focused.• Demonstrates proficiency in the accountabilities, competencies and skills needed for data evaluation, inventory review, and NPI assessment. • Consults with senior management to learn strategy, tactical approaches, priorities, requirements, and business process.
SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS
• Expertise in purchasing, inventory management, internal Mouser systems, global market trend analysis, and strategical development.• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and individual contributors.• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.• Ability to set and track personal and overall team goals.• Exhibits strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.• Interacts effectively with individuals and groups inside and outside the organization.• Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills, including ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.• Advanced knowledge in Excel (90%), and other Microsoft Office programs
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in a business discipline preferred. • Internal Candidates must have 3 years of Mouser experience as a Supplier Manager with a proven record of success as a highly performing Mouser employee.• External Candidates must have 10 years of electronics distribution experience including sales, marketing, product knowledge, distribution, or asset management.
