Job Description
Provide professional support to all students in the BS in Elementary Education Online program and the MS in Elementary Teaching program. This position will be responsible for the recruitment and retention of new students to both programs through the development of strategic recruitment and retention plans, including verifying completed prior coursework and advising transfer pathways for new and prospective students. Collaborate with faculty to foster positive advising experiences that assists students in meeting their educational goals. This position is also responsible for cultivating relationships with K-12 partners and facilitating the arrangement of field experience and student teaching experiences for all students enrolled in both programs.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education or closely related field. (conferred on an official transcript at the time of application.)
Minimum of two (2) years professional experience in advising, career development, K-12 setting or similar field.
Excellent written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to develop positive relationships with students, and partners, such as school districts and other colleges/universities.
Demonstrated ability to advise students’ academic progression through programs.
Preferred Qualification
Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
Experiences working with adult learners and non-traditional students.
Demonstrated ability to supervise students, or strong potential for successful supervision.
Knowledge of accreditation practices or ability to learn accreditation practices.
Willingness to learn new technologies and software.
Ability to support students’ use of technology and software, such as GoReact and Anthology Portfolio, for student teaching supervision.
Other Requirements
This position requires a valid, applicable driver’s license.
Assignments may include evening/weekend requirements to meet with students and/or attend recruitment events.
Up to 10% of position responsibilities may include travel within the state of Minnesota or other nearby Midwestern states to attend recruitment events or meetings.
