Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital LPN - Hospital in Manistique, Michigan
JOB SUMMARY:
Provides direct patient care that adheres to the policies and patient safety standards of Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital. The LPN works with the team under the direction of the RN and Charge RN to preserve, support and restore health and wellness by practicing at the highest level of the Licensed Practical Nurse. Provides physiological and psychological support to the patient, supports family and friends, promotes best practice, and maintains a professional disposition.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing.
LPN with a current license to practice as a licensed practical nurse in the State of Michigan.
BCLS certified.
Experience working in Medical-Surgical and ER nursing areas.
Knowledge and experience utilizing EMR system.
Complete understanding and compliance with all HIPAA regulations.
Satisfactory health as evidenced by a physical exam.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Adheres to the standards of nursing care and the policies and procedure of the hospital and nursing department.
Records and reports all observed symptoms, reactions, treatments and changes in the patient’s condition to the charge nurse/RN and the physician as indicated. Able to prioritize patient care for optimal patient outcome
Assists the physician with examination, treatment, special tests and procedures as directed by the charge nurse/RN.
Assists with rehabilitation of patients in accordance with medical care procedures as directed by the charge nurse/RN.
Establishes and maintains interpersonal relationships with patients, families, visitors and other hospital personnel.
Answers call lights, assists patients with personal hygiene, toileting, and other activities of daily living.
Assists in admitting, discharging and transferring of patients.
