Bowery Residents Committee Client Data Manager - 315 West 35th Street in Manhattan, New York

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for all aspects of overseeing and supporting the program- wide case management databases. Also include serving as a program liaison for various client databases, and assisting with data quality assurance processes. Databases include, AWARDS, DHS CARES, and MTA Homeless Database

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and distribute targeted materials to staff covering basic training, policies and procedures, and related topics

  • Conduct regular introductory trainings for new program staff, and ongoing specialized trainings for more advanced AWARDS and CARES

  • Facilitate technical assistance for database users

  • Customize database functionalities as necessary to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness of use

  • Assist with the preparation of program reports comparing key data from the case management database to internal monthly reports. Program reports may include daily data reports, on-going placement tracking reports, monthly BRC reports, quarterly DHS reports and other reports as needed by either the funder or BRC.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

HOURS:

Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

  • Monday - Friday 8am-4:30pm

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail, accuracy and pacing. Superior computer literacy skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, Power Point) and the ability to learn new computer applications with ease; knowledge of statistical software (e.g., SPSS) is a plus. Strong written and verbal communication skills.. Interest in issues relating to homelessness, mental health and/or substance abuse. Work requires continual attention to detail in managing data, processing information and establishing priorities.

  • Vaccination preferred but not required

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

BRC Homeless Outreach works with unsheltered individuals on the streets and in transportation hubs of Manhattan and the Metro-North lines to motivate them to accept services that will get them off the streets both initially and for the long term. To achieve housing for our clients, the BRC Homeless Outreach team builds trust with each individual, breaks down resistance to services, and remains determinedly focused on identifying appropriate and acceptable placements for our clients. The program operates with funding from the NYS Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Amtrak, the East Midtown Partnership and the Downtown Alliance.
