Description

Robert Half Management Resources is recruiting for a strong Accounting Manager to support our rapidly growing retail client on a 2–3-month on-site engagement in West Los Angeles. The Accounting Manager will assist the team in abstracting percentage rent information from their lease agreements. You will play a crucial role in accurately extracting, analyzing, and organizing percentage rent clauses from a variety of lease documents, ensuring compliance and accuracy in our financial reporting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lease Review: Thoroughly review lease agreements to identify and extract percentage rent clauses and related information.

  • Data Abstraction: Accurately abstract percentage rent terms including base rent, percentage rent thresholds, escalations, caps, and any other relevant provisions.

  • Analysis: Analyze abstracted data to ensure consistency and accuracy across all lease documents.

  • Documentation: Prepare comprehensive summaries and reports detailing the percentage rent terms for each lease agreement.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams including leasing, finance, and legal departments to ensure alignment and understanding of lease terms.

  • Quality Assurance: Conduct quality checks to validate the accuracy and completeness of abstracted data.

  • Advisory Support: Provide guidance and recommendations on lease interpretation and implications for financial reporting.

    Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required; a CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.

• At a minimum 5 years of experience in property or lease accounting and must be familiar with lease software and contracts.

• Proficient in working with Lease Abstracts, Lease Accounting, and Lease Agreements.

• Demonstrated skills in Data Analysis.

• Familiarity and competence in applying ASC 842 standards in accounting practices.

• Adept in managing financial data and ensuring its accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

• Ability to lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative work environment.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with various departments and stakeholders.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines.

• Proficiency in using accounting software and other related financial management tools.

• Strong problem-solving skills to address accounting discrepancies and irregularities.

• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
