At Jacobs, our Power Solutions team is geared towards providing a more integrated approach offering end-to-end service to support our clients in energy networks, thermal generation, renewable generation and storage solutions space. We are helping our clients meet the challenges faced in countries and cities across the globe, providing innovative solutions from replacing conventional thermal power plants with renewable energy to developing demand side management strategies.  

We are looking for a Solar Site Civil Engineer to join our Energy and Power Sector. The Solar Site Civil Engineer will review, design, and estimate (cost and quantity) - Civil & structural related items e.g., earthworks, control building, MV and PV substation foundation, etc. He/She will conduct site execution plan of civil and structural works within the time frame and within the budget, field inspection of solar power plant sites (greenfield or operational) - observe, evaluate condition, operability of facilities and structures, and to collect field survey data and measurements.

In addition, the Solar Site Civil Engineer shall check the drawings provided by various design consultants or engineering firms and prepare technical specification and requirements for tendering activities, prepare various types of reports (progress reports, technical due diligence, design reviews, etc.)

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil Engineering or equivalent

  • Knowledge in international and local design codes/standards

  • Knowledge of latest technologies and design codes for solar power – Civil and structural related

  • Solar-related project experience – ground-mounted and/or floating (with rooftop solar plant experience is a plus)

  • Other renewable energy project experience is a plus (wind, hydro, biomass, etc.)

Skills expected

  • AutoCAD, Civil 3D

  • Knowledge in drafting tools (Revit, sketch-up, etc.) is a plus

  • Knowledge in PVSyst, Helios 3D, SolarGIS is a plus
