We’re seeking a Principal Maritime Engineer to help oversee the complex and the everyday project tasks for a variety of clients. This role will help you grow your career, but also grow client relationships and business development opportunities for Jacobs.

The Principal Maritime Engineer shall identify, secure, deliver and follow-up on Port & Maritime Engineering services in Philippines and the wider region, seeking always to exceed agreed targets for client satisfaction, work winning and margin delivery. He/She shall grow Jacobs’ share of the Port & Maritime market and engineering capability in Philippines and engage high-level technical oversight and quality assurance from Port & Maritime directors/leaders in region and wider Jacobs’ global team.

Other Key Responsibilities Include

  • Developing focus client relationship management through the life cycle of projects; pursuing opportunities from first spark to award of contract, to successful project completion

  • Working with wider regional Sales and Operations teams to help identify market triggers, drivers and opportunities.

  • Leading detailed discussions to scope out client’s requirements and expectations through effective listening, summarizing and questioning.

  • Preparing of compelling proposals and presentations for engineering consultancy services

  • Delivering engineering consultancy services as technical lead and/or project manager to achieve high client satisfaction.

  • Identifying and securing follow on opportunities through the quality and value of our engineering and client services

  • Providing technical leadership and review of engineering consultancy services, within own area of competency

  • Engage and work with technical directors and talent acquisition to help hire new Port & Maritime engineers into Philippines.

  • Co-ordinating all of the above with regional and country leads across disciplines and business groups.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Professional Engineer e.g. PE or Chartered Engineer

  • Relevant degree in Civil or Maritime Engineering or similar associated subject

  • More than 15 years’ experience

The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate most of the following skills and knowledge:

  • High-level management/direction of projects with multi-disciplined design teams in engineering across the region

  • In-depth capability in Port & Maritime engineering and awareness of own limitations

  • Awareness of climate change and sea level rise implications for coastal areas, and experience with consideration of same in maritime planning and design

  • Familiarity with all areas of coastal, maritime, and wider civil engineering practice and infrastructure development

  • Experience in the feasibility, planning, investigations, modelling, design, and construction of port, maritime and coastal engineering projects
