The Production Manager will lead their facility’s production staff in executing production processes to achieve shared objectives across the facility. This role will measure safety, quality, delivery and cost performance while leveraging data to drive continuous improvement efforts (i.e. Lean & Six Sigma). In addition, the Production Manager is responsible for driving results through efficiency gains, balancing capacity to demand, managing labor, and developing, leading and empowering a diverse team.
The successful candidate is a dynamic, driven, and hands-on leader with a demonstrated track record of on-time deliveries and efficiency improvements. They will empower the team and improve its performance and capabilities with strong analytical and organizational guidance. The Production Manager also works closely with the leaders of Process, Engineering, Quality, and Customer Support to ensure customer requirements are met with the highest-quality services. With a growing business, the Production Manager is responsible for ensuring the increasing production demands can be satisfied.
Requirements
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage production resources, human and capital equipment, to meet production goals and company strategies:
Work with the Director of Operational Excellence to maintain appropriate staffing levels to meet customer commitments and budget constraints
Track the location of work-in-progress on the production floor, providing updates to Sales on job statuses and current production lead times
Understand and plan production capacity within each area of the production floor
Anticipate upswing in production to strategically staff the organization to meet those new demands
Reduce manufacturing costs through elimination of waste and production staff agility
Provide clear leadership for production personnel
Assign clear roles and tasks, assign accountability, devise performance metrics and track performance
Introduce manufacturing practices that improves efficiency, productivity and communication to all production personnel
Work with the Process Manager to build quality into production by standardizing and documenting processes and implementing best practices
Institutionalize production operations and supervisory systems
Document work instructions, procedures, drawings, and production staff training certifications
Monitor productivity and quality of operators
Interact with internal and external QA/Engineering departments to respond to corrective actions and to maintain and improve the Quality Management System
Plan and track completion of preventive maintenance activities
Enforce safety, organization, and neatness throughout the production floor
Manage the facility, including environmental records and responsibilities, regulatory compliance, hazardous material training, hazardous waste disposal, and the associated documentation
Ensure appropriate levels of production supplies are maintained

Job Skills:
Detail-oriented, with a logical and data analysis driven approach to problem solving
Proven leadership, people development, and team building/recruiting skills
Ability to rapidly generate credibility and a high degree of respect and trust within the organization
Computer skills (spreadsheets and ERP system)
Ability to understand technical drawings
Experience with AS9100 and ESD facilities, preferred
Job Qualifications:
To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulation, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
BS from a fully accredited institution, preferably in engineering or physical sciences, or equivalent work experience
Minimum of 8 years manufacturing management/supervision
Experience working in an electronics (semiconductor) manufacturing facility, preferred
Experience within the military/aerospace industry, preferred
High-energy, team player who can multi-task effectively in a fast-paced, lean environment while maintaining quality standards
Must have very good working experience in Lean Manufacturing
