Eversource Energy Energy Efficiency Consultant, New Construction (Hybrid) in Manchester, New Hampshire

In this role within the Energy Efficiency Department at Eversource, you will be working with Eversource’s commercial customers, and their building design teams to reduce the energy and carbon footprint of new buildings and major renovations.

The Energy Efficiency Consultant (EEC) position is responsible for implementing the Mass Save Commercial New Construction/Major Renovation program on behalf of Eversource. EECs work directly with customers, providing technical project management services and financial incentives that will lead to energy and carbon savings. This position requires project management skills, communication skills, and technical knowledge of building energy systems.

Through regular interactions with customers, energy efficiency contractors, building designers, and internal teammates from the Marketing, Regulatory Compliance and Sales teams, your focus will be on achieving Eversource’s energy and carbon savings goals to help the state meet its decarbonization objectives.

This is a hybrid role.

Essential Functions

  • Manages the integration of activities between the customer, other business partners, advisory consultants and vendor/contractors. Provides direction or technical project expertise to customers and coordinates available resources specific to the procurement and installation of energy or carbon saving measures, strategies, and systems.
  • Responsible for review and approval of moderately complex projects, which require an understanding of engineering analysis/calculations, implementation strategy for new technologies, or energy simulation modeling.
  • Provides programmatic or industry-specific training and educational programs to business partners, customers, and vendors/contractors.
  • Develops documents and plans necessary to meet compliance with regulatory filings and oversight of rate-payer funded Energy Efficiency programs.
  • Ensures that all projects and program elements are managed properly and in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Reviews project documentation and application materials to confirm all required and supporting materials are provided by program deadlines in order to fulfill program participation parameters.
  • Participates in the budgeting, invoicing, evaluation, and tracking of expenses and energy savings; assists with the development of RFPs for contracted services.
  • Facilitates achievement of energy efficiency and decarbonization goals by promoting related programs and initiatives to assigned customers/customer segments.
  • Partners with Energy Efficiency teammates across various departments, including Sales and Marketing, in order to set an energy efficiency implementation path and strategy for customer participation.
  • Actively participates in an environment of continuous improvement and innovation with respect to program design, project coordination and internal/external processes.
  • Actively works to generate customer and design team interest in program participation by doing outreach, delivering presentations, and leading meetings.

Qualifications

Technical Knowledge/Skill:

  • Requires fundamental knowledge of building energy efficiency and decarbonization technologies and strategies.
  • Requires solid understanding of financial principals.
  • Requires ability to use PC desktop applications (e.g., Microsoft Word and Excel).
  • Requires excellent communication and project management skills.

Education:

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in technical marketing, sales, construction management, engineering, architecture, energy efficiency or equivalent relevant experience.

Experience :

  • Three (3) plus years of relevant experience in technical marketing, sales, construction management, engineering, architecture, or energy efficiency.
  • Experience and/or aptitude in customer service also desired.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The annual salary range for this position is $90,000 - $100,000 plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with experience. Check out the career site for an overview of benefits.
