Johnson Controls Senior Field Operations Data Analyst in Manchester, United Kingdom

What you will do

As Senior Field Operations Data Analyst, you will develop and execute world class data analytics to support the continued development of field operations excellence for the EMEALA Service business of $2B revenue and extended support to the systems/install business of $2.3B revenue.

You will partner with EMEALA operational function leaders to deliver business-critical insights that drive decision making and both corrective and continuous improvement actions to support the growth in volume and profitability of the EMEALA Service business, as well as collaborating with Global Field Operations to define and execute common and convergent data and analytics strategies that both establish and leverage best practice standardization.

Develop robust, sustainable data architectures that mitigate source systems’ divergence while delivering a common framework for analytics and field excellence processes including Integrated Business Planning (demand and capacity planning), productivity and headcount based analytics.

Deliver advanced analytics and reporting supporting both regular cadence requirements and ad hoc business needs.

Challenge the status quo with proactive identification of opportunities to leverage data analytics, including leveraging machine learning and AI, to derive business insights to drive business results

How you will do it

  • Deliver and maintain common data sets supporting core field excellence processes

  • Design and deliver effective, user-friendly dashboards to improve transparency of key datapoints and performance metrics to enable decision making and action planning

  • Deliver regular reporting and insights to meet EMEALA and global cadence requirements

  • Produce ad hoc analysis and insights to support demand from business leaders in EMEALA and GFO.

  • Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to peers regarding the structuring of data and use of analytic tools to achieve business insights

  • Define, build and deliver effective and consistent productivity reporting across EMEALA field operations

  • Define, build and deliver effective and consistent headcount reporting across EMEALA field operations

  • Identify regional best practices and optimize standardization across EMEALA business units

  • Promote best practice opportunities with global stakeholders and ensure EMEALA requirements are fully reflected in global efforts relating to operational data and analytics

  • Deploy regular maintenance to maintain data integrity, continuity and compliance with respect to data and analytics

  • Proactively develop opportunities to leverage advanced analytics e.g. machine learning and AI, to advance both the effectiveness and efficiency of the analytics function

  • Provide technical oversight and coach data analysts

What we look for

Essential

  • 5+ years experience with data governance, data processing, model design and model-building phases (e.g., enterprise model, algorithm design, model refinement) on physical, distributed systems and cloud hosted environments (essential, but take out number of years and just list experience)

  • Experience of contributing to development of data strategies in complex corporate environment (Essential – ideally consulting background Accenture, finance big-4)

  • Advanced skills in database tools and languages including SQL, Snowflake (essential)

  • Advanced skills in use of analytic and visualisation tools (PowerBI in particular) (essential)

  • Ability to define and interpret data standards and compliance requirements (essential)

  • Analytical and process oriented. (Essential)

  • Able to work effectively in a matrix organization structure. Strong leadership and influencing skills. (essential)

  • Good cultural awareness and ability to navigate a diverse international organization (essential)

  • Solid understanding of field operations with ability to identify and leverage relevant data points (essential)

  • Able to manage developmental, continuous improvement initiatives including cross functional project teams (essential)

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to succinctly convey insights and relevance to business leaders (essential)

  • Strong presentation skills with ability to support with the use effective visual aids (essential)

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Power point software. (essential)

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (Preferred)

  • Change management skills to ensure effective changes are not only identified and developed but are successfully deployed and adopted by business users (preferred)

  • Lean / Six Sigma certified (preferred)
