The primary role is carrying out various types of building survey and also undertaking project work for our wide range of clients, including preparation of planning and building regulations applications, preparation of tender documents and contract administration, using the NEC3 and other suites of contracts.

YOUR TEAM

Our PPP and Property Advisory Business Unit is recruiting for an Associate level Chartered Building Surveyor to join the senior management team in the northern region, within its Commercial and Technical Advisory team. The role can be based out of any of the following WSP offices; Manchester or Leeds.

You’ll be supporting other professional technical consultants, all dedicated to growing and sharing their expertise, working on bigger and higher profile projects. Taking on responsibility for all aspects of team activities and development including budget delivery and business development.

The Commercial and Technical Advisory team comprises highly experienced Surveyors and Engineers working with clients across a wider range of sectors and markets delivering advice on built assets from acquisition, through construction and operating phases to disposal.

The team regularly undertake Condition / Defect Surveys and analysis, Asset capture exercises, IC / Construction monitoring roles, Fire Risk Assessments, Compliance and operational audits, Party Wall, Design and specification, Contract Admin, NEC Supervisor, CDM and Clerk of Works roles, across all sectors.

This depth of service has allowed us to establish long term trusted relationships with a significant number of key clients in both the public and private sectors in the UK, Europe and beyond.

  • Are a Chartered Building Surveyor (or similar) with demonstrable experience post qualification.

  • Looking to take the next step up into senior management, to motivate yourself and others to achieve the vision, values and objectives of WSP and those of our clients.

  • Can actively manage performance to maximise contribution and achieve appropriate and timely resolution of performance issues.

  • Can demonstrate the effective management and achievement of team/business unit objectives, which support WSP objectives and achieve staff commitment to these plans.

  • Are able to consider the commercial and financial impact of your work and are able to foster and encourage the establishment of external partnerships.

  • Can implement effective budget management to achieve high level quality of service and cost effectiveness.
