We are in search of a Sr. Accountant to join our team in the manufacturing industry, located in HARTFORD COUNTY. In this role, you will be the sole accountant on-site, reporting to a Controller based elsewhere. You will play a crucial role in the financial leadership of the site, serving as the finance business partner for the facility, collaborating directly with the sales, operations, and corporate teams.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all general ledger activity.

• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closes.

• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts.

• Conduct detailed inventory analysis and forecasting to aid in decision-making processes.

• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and support them with schedules and note disclosures as needed.

• Handle and resolve customer inquiries regarding credit applications and other financial matters.

• Assist in the development of financial procedures to improve and maintain the financial health of the firm.

• Collaborate with the sales and operations teams to drive financial performance.

• Use Microsoft Excel and other relevant software for data analysis and inventory management.

• Maintain adherence to corporate, accounting and GAAP standards; keep informed about updated regulations.

• Manage month-end closing and post-closing activities, including account reconciliations and updating schedules.

Requirements • Must hold a minimum of 3 years of experience in a relevant accounting role.

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation and Balance Sheet Reconciliation.

• Demonstrated experience with General Ledger and Journal Entries.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

• Experience with Month End Close processes.

• Prior experience in a Manufacturing Company is desirable.

• Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning systems.

• Experience in Inventory Accounting, Inventory Analysis, Inventory forecasting, and Inventory Reconciliation is required.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Must have a keen attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

• Professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus.
