Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team. The role requires working Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm, with on-call duties after a six-month contract, rotating 1-2 weeks per month. You must have reliable transportation and live within 30 minutes of the facility. The Maintenance Technician will work directly under the maintenance supervisor to service all 380 units in our apartment complex.

Responsibilities

• Manage maintenance requests from residents for minor repairs

• Repair small kitchen appliances such as refrigerators and washing machines

• Fix issues related to sinks, including installing new sinks, snaking drains, and repairing light bulbs in appliances

• Diagnose appliance issues and determine whether they can be repaired on the spot or if a sub-contractor is needed

• Assist the Lead Mechanic with larger projects around the facility

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance tasks

Essential Skills

• Experience with sheetrock and drywall

• Ability to perform light plumbing tasks

• Knowledge of property maintenance and repair

• Mechanical aptitude

• Experience diagnosing issues with small appliances

• Skill in carpentry and sheetrock installation

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Understanding of the nature of maintenance work and how to interact with residents

• Ability to work well within a small team to maintain the entire property
