Technician Helper

Job Description

This role involves supporting technicians by going on the road with them to help set up and stage heating equipment on construction sites. The employee will stage and set up ducts and gas lines that connect the heating equipment before the technicians make the connections, such as building manifolds. Additionally, the technician helper will support service technicians in the delivery of equipment.

Responsibilities

• Support technicians in setting up and staging heating equipment on construction sites.

• Stage and set up ducts and gas lines before technicians make the connections.

• Assist in building manifolds.

• Support service technicians in the delivery of equipment.

• Perform general labor tasks and use hand tools as required.

Essential Skills

• Mechanical aptitude

• Experience in HVAC and maintaining equipment

• At least 2 years of HVAC experience or equivalent school experience

• Basic math skills

• Ability to lift 50 lbs

• Valid driver's license and clean driving record

• Must be mechanically inclined

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with hand tools

• Experience in a service-related role interacting with customers

• Experience in maintenance, construction, or general labor

• Knowledge of HVAC electrical systems

• Experience in carpentry

• Willingness to work some after-hours and weekends during peak times

Work Environment

This role involves working both in the shop and on the road riding with technicians. Normal working hours are Monday through Friday, from 7 AM to 3:30 PM or 4 PM. Some after-hours and weekend work will be required during peak times.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Manassas, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
