The Physical Security Technical Manager is responsible for managing and providing design, installation, and technical support for video surveillance, access control systems, and other technical systems at Micron’s global facilities. This position will also provide technical expertise and support to a variety of new construction and renovation projects. It includes the creation and execution of security policies, protocols, and procedures to guarantee the protection and security of all staff members, assets, and facilities globally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive global physical security technical system strategy that aligns with the Micron’s business objectives.

  • Manage and support accurate installation and implementation of security technologies, to include access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection equipment which includes badge readers, access control panels, electrified door strikes, door contacts, request to exits, maglocks, power supplies, cameras, camera servers, switches, servers, cabling, motion detectors, and alarm panels.

  • Manage installation of approved physical security system hardware, including, but not limited to, access control devices, intrusion detection devices, CCTV, and other components of physical security systems.

  • Design of physical security system for new construction, expansion and retrofit projects.

  • Preparation of security design standards, typical drawings, andtechnicalspecification documents for projects for the purposes of pricing by approved vendors.

  • Review and provide quality assurance of vendor quotes.

  • Project management of multiple, concurrent security system installation projects and vendors.

  • Domain Expert for physical security system testing and acceptance, and assuring operational readiness at project completion.

  • Manage relationships with security vendors, ensuring high-quality service delivery and cost-effectiveness.

  • Reporting vendor performance metrics regarding system installation, service delivery, and equipment availability / reliability.

  • Evaluate new equipment and next generation technologies related to security.

  • Develop proof-of-concept documents for new equipment and technologies.

  • Manage master security detail libraries.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPP, PSP, PMP) is preferred.

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in the field of physical security management, including the design, installation, and integration of access control, identification, and surveillance systems, is required. This should include a minimum of 3 years in a leadership position.

  • Proficient in AutoCAD.

  • Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing physical security strategies in a global organization.

  • Training in / experience using Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED)

  • Certification or hands-on working experience with Lenel Access Control System.

  • Advanced technicalexperience in the Security Industry may be considered.

  • Understanding of construction documentation.

  • Understanding of computer networks and telecommunications systems.

  • Good documentation andtechnicalwriting skills.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft Teams.

  • Experience designing, installing, or coordinating security systems specifically for semiconductor industry considered strongly beneficial.

  • Experience in project management oftechnicalsecurity project is strongly beneficial.

  • Ability to travel as needed.
