Description

Robert Half has a fantastic career opportunity for an articulate, highly skilled inventory assistant who will be responsible for managing, organizing, and maintaining the inventory of a company. You will monitor inventory levels, manage restocking procedures, assist in organizing the storage area, update inventory records, and perform regular audits to ensure accuracy. Additionally, you will help in processing incoming shipments and preparing items for shipping. You must have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience with inventory management software. Basic math skills for counting and calculating inventory are also essential. The inventory assistant will work closely with the inventory manager or supervisor and is a critical part of the supply chain team.

Requirements

Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required. However, a degree in business, logistics, or a related field is preferred.

Experience: Will need 1 year of prior warehouse/ inventory experience

Organizational Skills: Ability to track and document inventory, maintain accurate records, and arrange items for easy accessibility.

Attention to Detail: This is critical while maintaining inventory records as even minor discrepancies can lead to larger issues such as oversupply or shortage.

Computer Skills: Proficiency in using inventory software and databases, as well as basic Microsoft Office skills.

Numeracy Skills: Understanding of mathematics and accounting principles to keep accurate records and perform necessary calculations.

Physical Requirements: The employee might occasionally be required to lift or move substantial weight for inventory count or management.

Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with team members, supervisors, and potentially suppliers.

Problem Solving Skills: Ability to detect discrepancies in data and find effective solutions.

Adaptability: Inventory needs can change rapidly, so adaptability and the ability to work under pressure are essential.

Time management: Manage work schedule to fulfill duties in a timely manner, meet deadlines for inventory counts and reports.

Technical skills: Understanding of warehouse equipment and machinery, and ideally, knowledge of industry-specific technology.

Understanding of inventory regulations, safety procedures, and company policies.
