Summary of Role:

GlobalFoundries Fab 8 is seeking experienced professionals to support the state of the art 300mm semiconductor manufacturing and development in Malta, New York. The core responsibilities of this team involve ownership of metrology process; creating Scatteronetry and ellipsonetry models and recipes to monitor, control and improve semiconductor technology yield, Cp/Cpk of inline and electrical parameters, defectivity, and more. The team is also responsible for the development of new and emerging metrology technologies and recipes through definition/execution of experiments and technical data analysis. The ideal candidate can demonstrate a technical mastery of semiconductor metrology techniques such as scatteronetry, elliosonetry, XPS and an understanding of a balanced scorecard approach to develop, sustain, and improve semiconductor technologies with quality, cost, and delivery all considered.

Essential Responsibilities Include:

  • Collaborate with GlobalFoundries internal customers and participate in development/manufacturing of unit process for various technologies including FinFET, Si Photonics and many more.

  • Work on various metrology tools such as CDS, OVL, XPS, Optical metrology tools (THK, OCD) to create recipes and develop new models to support manufacturing and development of leading technologies

  • Design, execute, and analyze experiments to screen and optimize module unit process and equipment to meet technology (e.g., performance, yield, and reliability) and manufacturing (e.g., process stability, cost of ownership) targets.

  • Work with integration and device groups in the technology development and the manufacturing teams to plan and execute projects and implement solutions on schedule.

  • Engage with metrology tool suppliers to highlight new process requirements and evaluate new equipment solutions.

  • Define and maintain module metrology process and equipment roadmaps.

  • Sustain production line, daily SPC monitoring, Cpk improvement, and troubleshooting support for process and tool issues.

  • Perform metrology Tool setup, qualification and tool matching activities.

  • Improve process robustness for high volume manufacturing using statistical tools, DOE techniques, data-driven decision making, and systematic problem-solving skills. Use lean manufacturing and six sigma processes.

  • Drive continuous improvement efforts in support of throughput improvement, cost reduction, and yield learning.

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

    Required Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Solid State Physics, Chemical or other relevant engineering physical science discipline is required.

  • Minimum of 4 years of semiconductor process engineering experience in the process area is desired;

  • Understand and working knowledge od CDS, OVL, XPS, Optical metrology

  • Understanding and working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and/or Design of Experiments (DOE).

  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with diverse teams, customers, internal and external partners.

  • Fluency in English Language – written & verbal

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS or PhD degree in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Solid State Physics, Chemical or other relevant engineering physical science discipline is preferred.

  • Experience with CDS, OVL, XPS, Optical metrology processes and equipment is highly desired

  • Experienced Metrology Engineer is preferred.

  • Experience and understanding of high-volume manufacturing is highly preferred.

  • Understanding of FEOL and BEOL integration is a plus

Expected Salary Range

$70,700.00 - $133,100.00
