CAE USA INC Aviation Safety Officer in Malaga, Spain

About This Role

Join our Civil Aviation Regional Safety team as an Aviation Safety Officer to lead the implementation of safety management processes and drive the transformation of our safety culture across our European training centres. Based in Malaga, you will educate and influence senior management to ensure safety principles are a core aspect of our commercial operations.

Position Summary

  • Oversee the delivery of a centralized Safety Management System (SMS) framework to enhance safety culture.

  • Proactively identify and mitigate hazards and risks.

  • Conduct safety audits to ensure compliance with European and country-specific regulations.

  • Educate and mentor staff on safety principles.

  • Support the execution of safety management plans and achievement of Safety Performance Targets (SPTs).

  • Design and deliver safety training courses and promotion materials.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating risk assessments to identify specific safety and training risks in flight operations.

  • Utilizing SMS feedback to identify deficiencies, analyse root causes, and implement corrective actions.

  • Executing the Global Annual Safety audit program and ensuring regulatory compliance.

  • Communicating with regulatory authorities and other stakeholders on safety matters.

  • Managing a confidential reporting system and participating in working groups and conferences.

  • Conducting investigations and maintaining a continuous feedback system for safety performance.

Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating a Safety Management System for training organizations or airlines.

  • Knowledge of ICAO, Transport Canada, FAR, CASA, EASA, and other NAA regulations.

  • Holds/has held an ICAO recognized Flight Crew License (Recommended).

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment and manage local and remote teams.

  • Experience in investigating and evaluating aircraft and training accidents/incidents.

  • 2 to 5 years of job-related experience
