The Senior Instructional Designer will build scalable learning experiences that develop teams across the enterprise. The ideal candidate will be creative and tech savvy with experience working across multiple instructional delivery modalities with expert level digital design skills. The Sr Instructional Designer will create and continuously improve learning experiences using an array of approaches that engage learners and drive high-impact learning.

You will be responsible for designing high-quality training content in multiple formats such as interactive eLearning, videos, instructor-led content, virtual classroom design, tool kits, job aids, infographics, study guides and simulations. The role requires an individual who can innovate, move quickly, and not be constrained by how things have been done before. The role also requires deep collaboration with SMEs including senior-level leaders across multiple disciplines/functional roles.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working on multiple projects in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. The candidate should be an adult learning expert who is creative, analytical, and customer-focused with solid writing skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Engage/collaborate with appropriate stakeholders and SMEs needed to identify business needs, performance goals and gaps and conduct content analysis

  • Research/analyze data needed to identify/confirm business issues (e.g., quality data, production data)

  • Conduct task analysis research to identify the specific knowledge, skills, behaviors needed to achieve desired performance levels (e.g., focus groups, observation)

  • Develop learning objectives based on appropriate analyses (e.g., business analysis, task analysis, audience analysis)

  • Engage/collaborate with appropriate stakeholders and SMEs to determine appropriate training content (e.g., products, processes, tools, skills needed)

  • Develop project plans for design/development of identified solutions (e.g., in-scope/out-of scope elements, timeframes, resources, roles/responsibilities, priorities, cost estimates, feasibility analyses, risks/assumptions)

  • Apply principles of adult learning and training best practices to create effective and innovative training design solutions

  • Develop appropriate learning activities based on training designs and learning objectives

  • Write scripts/talking points for learning activities (e.g., trainer, audio, video, case studies)

  • Write supporting materials for learning activities (e.g., agendas, schedules, quick reference guides, handouts, job aids, trainer/learner guides, audio/visual aids)

  • Leverage/modify existing training solutions to meet current needs (e.g., updates, revisions, re-purposing for new audiences)

  • Conduct Train-the-Trainer sessions to prepare trainers for delivery of training solutions and ensure/validate trainer readiness

  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in instructional, digital design and learning content development

  • Hands-on experience of 4+ years with online learning including tools such as Captivate, Articulate Storyline, Lectora, SnagIT, and others

  • Hands-on experience of making videos using any of these tools - Camtasia, VideoScribe, Powtoon, etc.

  • Proven experience with designing and developing online learning solutions, both synchronous and asynchronous

  • Proficient computer skills including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Awareness of LMS and LCMS standards

  • Proven good knowledge of basic ID principles such as ADDIE, Bloom’s taxonomy, Adult Learning Principles, Gagne’s 9 events etc.

  • Solid analytical skills, attention to detail, problem-solving and fact-based decision-making abilities

  • Ability to design curriculum

  • Ability to design or develop serious games (game-based quizzes)

  • Awareness of gamification frameworks
