Shell Project Creditable Withholding Tax Analyst in Makati City, Philippines

About the role

As CWT Analyst, you will be accountable for the following:

  • Gathers data, analyses and reports findings. Gathers data using existing formats and will suggest changes to these formats. Resolves disputes and acts as an SME, first escalation level.

  • Conducts analyses to solve repetitive or patterned information and data queries/problems.

  • Works within a variety of well-defined procedures and practices. Supervised on progress and results; informs management about analysis outcomes. Works autonomously within this scope, with regular steer required e.g. on project scope and prioritisation. May coach less experienced colleagues.

  • Supports stakeholders in understanding analyses / outcomes and using them on topic related to own areas of expertise. Interaction with others demands influencing and persuasion in a tactful manner to explain and advise on performed analyses of information.

  • Job holder identifies shortcomings in current processes, systems and procedures within the assigned unit and suggests improvements. Analyses, proposes and (where possible) implements alternatives.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Performs end to end collection activities of receivables which includes but not limited to outstanding and overdue collections, dispute handling, complex reconciliation and clearing as well as reporting of summary of balances.

  • Handles complex customer queries

  • Maintains and foster good working relationships with Sales, the business and with relevant FO business partners.

  • Performs Pre-SAWT activities for CWT certificates which includes but not limited to affixing electronic signatures, renaming of certificates to a BIR-prescribed naming convention, preparation and reasonableness review of Pre-SAWT report

  • Tracks offenses and sends reminders/warning letters as part of Consequence Management

  • Troubleshoots, investigates and resolves issues related to CWT tool/applications through root cause analysis with close follow up with IT to ensure resolution

  • Performs other activities required to support the closure and projects for customer receivables.

Where you fit in

You will be part of local operational teams so you must have a good understanding of local gaps, needs, and opportunities.

What we need from you

  • Experience in creditable withholding tax, BIR form 2307, reconciliation of balances

  • Relevant accounting/ tax skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office and SAP

  • Previous experience in handling mailboxes, preferred
