Netflix Accounts Receivable and Collections Manager in Manila, Philippines

The Role

Key to the effort in building a global Internet TV network is the ability to grow and evolve our revenue-generating initiatives across the globe. We continue to introduce new commerce models, pricing strategies, and other opportunities to grow the business and now you have the chance to join the growing team of finance experts who support them. Our Revenue team is currently looking for an Accounts Receivable and Collections Manager to help build out our Accounts Receivable (AR) function, reconcile cash, and scale our billings, cash, and collections processes. This newly created position will look to solve complex issues across our Revenue verticals such as Advertising, Partnerships, and Consumer Products. This role will be based in Manila but will work cross-functionally across many time zones with our US and other international offices.

The perfect candidate will be hands-on and very detail-oriented, able to analyze a large volume of requests and transactions with high accuracy, have excellent communication skills, be capable of multitasking, and take the initiative to drive process change and improvements.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL

  • Help build and scale a high-performing AR and Collections teams to support the growing needs of the business.

  • Partner with the Revenue Accounting and Treasury Operations team to design efficient and scalable workflows with clear roles and responsibilities between Accounting and AR functions.

  • Work closely with the Revenue Accounting and Treasury Operations team across the globe to understand cash flow timing, management, and reconciliation to ensure timely collection of funds across various Revenue verticals.

  • Manage dunning letters, late payments, and bad debt processes.

  • Manage cash collection and payment application process.

  • Manage and maintain changes to customer contact, address, and other critical billing details.

  • Manage invoice or collection disputes and escalation and drive resolution.

  • Review, analyze, and respond to internal and external settlement inquiries.

  • Perform detailed tracking and analysis of cash receipts and collaborate with internal accounting teams to ensure proper treatment under US GAAP.

  • Support monthly accounting close activities as needed.

  • Partner with other AR and Collections Specialists to resolve issues as needed.

  • Identify process gaps and drive projects to simplify and automate manual workflows.

  • Open to work during regular business hours, with the flexibility to slide shifts/ work overtime for certain critical business periods.

  • Proficient in Excel and ERP systems (Workday experience a plus).

  • Uses good judgment and knows when to make a decision and when to escalate.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Accounting or Finance background; CPA preferred

  • 8+ years of relevant experience

  • Experience with leading a team

  • Degree in a relevant field of study

  • Experience at a Global Company is a plus

  • Knowledge of cloud-related ERP systems a plus

  • Experience with a ticketing tool or system is a plus
