What you will do-
You will lead engineering teams that focus on developing technical expertise on core processes and delivering innovative manufacturing technologies in alignment with the plant’s strategic plan.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Provide technical leadership to maintain / improve our existing core manufacturing processes and identify / develop new innovative methods and technologies for the advancement of our operations
Provide innovative and efficient technical solutions to operations management
Create and execute the vision for operations technology and engineering development, both individual and organizational
Provide the framework for the development of our engineering talent pool to maintain expertise in our core processes and provide technical career development for our engineers
Participate in defining engineering best practices and generating procedures to standardize best practices where appropriate
Support the development and use of standard project management tools and develop training curriculum and materials for our project managers
Support all capital acquisition activity from specifying equipment, contract negotiation, installation, and validation
Support the development and use of Six Sigma and problem-solving tools and develop training curriculum and materials for our engineers
Support the development of robust methods for characterization, validation and controls of those processes through the use of Six Sigma tools and statistical techniques
Drive the development of standard operating procedures to define standard work content
Collaborate closely with the operations leadership team and manufacturing value streams in addressing systemic problems through continuous improvement
Collaborate closely with support functions to ensure that processes are in place to support or enhance the proper maintenance and monitoring of our advanced processes
Develop and manage department budget(s) and team expenses
Manage employee development and succession planning activities; set performance objectives, provide coaching/guidance and performance evaluation
What you need-
Bachelor's degree in engineering required; master's degree -a plus
10+ years of engineering experience required; experience in a manufacturing environment -strongly preferred
Supervisory/people management experience required
Experience with complex engineering initiatives and/or new product introduction -preferred
Green Belt/Black Belt/Master Black Belt certification -preferred
Experience in a highly regulated industry -preferred
Demonstrated ability to lead/facilitate problem solving teams -preferred
Demonstrated use of project management tools to plan, track and facilitate projects -preferred
Demonstrated technical writing skills -preferred
